Re: 6/21 Back to Basics
My favourite place
I have a favourite walk
I go there every day
It’s deep in the country
Tucked really far away
You walk down through a wood
All dark and condescending
Down a narrow track
Dirty uneven and bending
Then without a warning
A massive burst of light
As everything turns bright green
It is just an amazing sight
It’s down by the river
All quiet and serine
A mill pond and the mill
You can almost picture the scene
Swans swimming underneath
The bridge leading over pond
I drop a stone in the water
And watch the ripples respond
Doesn’t matter about the weather
Or the time of year
Just follow the path to it’s end
And you will find me there

My perfect world
This peaceful place, this bolt-hole
This vision that I see
This pretty pond with graceful swans
Is where I need to be.
This old water-mill, this broken fence
This stretch of land, so green
This is my place, a tranquil place
This place is so serene.
I love this place, I always have
This place is in my dreams
A peaceful place, a hiding place
To suffocate my screams.
The world can be an ugly place
Where terrible things take hold
But in the safety of my dreams
My perfect world unfolds.
This vision that I see
This pretty pond with graceful swans
Is where I need to be.
This old water-mill, this broken fence
This stretch of land, so green
This is my place, a tranquil place

Along a country mile
Peace calm and serenity
in a country scene
trees tall and sun kissed
yet still remaining green
Narrow winding country lane
leading to such charm
swans and ducks drift along
not doing any harm
Higgledy piggledy fences
add to the character and style
of this old and wonderful watermill
found along a country mile

Is there a Mystery ?
In a secluded country village
down a tree lined peacefull lane
is a watermill with character
I know not what its name
It could tell a hundred stories
maybe a fair few more
looking at the woodwork
her windows and her door
The slated roof the seal
on what has happened here
the secrets held tight inside
the wheel continues on its turn
The silence is then broken
as the wheel turns around
pushing through the water
ripples forming sound
You watch the wheel in motion
as it turns within your mind
wondering deep in water
what treasures would you find
Deep within the bushes
high up in the trees
ghosts release their whispers
carried in the breeze
Is there a mystery lurking
deep inside the walls of
this wonderful wooden watermill
its one I feel needs to be told

Onward Will I March
Lay do I in the shade upon flush green,
Thinking well of mama and papa in Tennessee,
As no more is the noise of cannons, guns and moans,
Nulled by the kind wind and gentle splashes.
Yet, there is the road, long, narrow and tiring.
Pointing, pointing to brethrens lined in wait.
But here I Lay, devoured by rest,
Swallowed by the beauty my eyes see,
The swans in swim, trees in sway and sky only of blue.
Restful I be, my being the water's calm,
And reflective upon that for days long dreamt.
So is my thinking, as the log fence does remind
Of places battle torn, as too the quaintness of home.
Evenmore, sorrow deepens in my soul,
For the burrowed ghost, and conscience's dispair.
Such is the tidings of war upon a boy, now a man
Who aged from purpose like the old gray mill.
Yet, sows hope to be like that her wheel, in cease
And be no more firing cannons or breathless men.
But though I lay peacefully in the comfort of the shade,
Soon cross will I the bridge and again know hell
For this evening will surely bring the order
And once more onward will I march.

a place where silence would be a strange sound
a busy house with noise and chatter
rushing around hearing childrens toys clatter

Re: 6/21 Back to Basics
stillness surrounds the world i call mine
peace and relaxation in the air as i free my mind
i sit and stare at all the beauty that surrounds me
i feel its depth inside me allowing me to be free
i see children playing in the distance by a setting sun
i see a couple upon a bench but mostly i see fun
the type of fun you have when you have not a worry
the bliss from being in this place you love and not having to hurry
the passion i feel for this place i call my own
will be in my heart until i am well grown
the memory of here and now is what makes me so amazed
the foggy home of mine is lost in a daze
as my heart is here and here it stays
peace and relaxation in the air as i free my mind
i sit and stare at all the beauty that surrounds me
i feel its depth inside me allowing me to be free
i see children playing in the distance by a setting sun
