Gone but never forgotten

Go down

Gone but never forgotten Empty Gone but never forgotten

Post  Sue McDonald Wed Oct 09 2019, 05:01

A year ago today you called
I felt the numbness form
I heard you speak the saddest words
I felt my heart had torn

I couldn't speak for tears
they strangled all my words
I listened dazed to what you said
yet also, felt your fear

A year has passed, the grief so strong
I worry so much about you
I hear the sadness in your speech
Sence the mist covering your eyes
We talk about the loss you feel
how it all seems so unreal !

You yearn to hear his gentle voice
see the smile upon his face,
long to feel the tender touch
of the arms that so embraced

Soooooo

I have this little thought inside my mind
that might just help you through
I want to help you ease some pain
Look at things a different way

So here's my thought for you......

His gentle voice your missing
Is whispering softly in your ear
he's saying 'Betsy, darling, please let go
of saddened misty tears,
try not to cry, for what has gone
because really, I'm still here !

I'm with you in the garden, whispering through the trees
with you in your deepest thoughts and of course your fears
I lay a kiss upon your cheek, disguise it as a tear
watch the sun help form your smile, as the tears dry in my breeze

We will always be together, how ever far apart
more than sixty years of love, forever joined by our hearts
You'll always have our memories, our photos and our dreams
most of all my love for you for eternity will remain
