If life were a drawing !

Sometimes I wish life was a drawing
a sketchbook of what lies ahead
Would I draw a different picture ?
Could I draw what I wanted instead?
Could hurt be lightly erased ?
Could pain be blocked right out ?
Could words and actions of the day,
be replaced with more pleasant sights,
clearer sketched in black and white ?
Would I sketch around the answers
of so many questions inside ?
Would I draw myself a safe place
where I could go to and sometimes hide ?
Could I wipe away sad tears,
erase them from moistened cheeks
Would it help, or just colour in,
pain and sadness caused through months or weeks ?
Would I draw a better life ?
If I did, could it really change ?
Then, would it be, the change for the best
or, change that gives no more rest ?
Well, I guess I'll just keep pen to paper
as the scenes I create I can't draw
I'll just form my words in my mind
try hard to write fair of mankind
