Looking for Mum !

Hello my name is Lucky, yes, that's a human name,
I live in Riverglen Marina, where I've become quite tame !

I'm a young female black swan, some skiers injured me
now some loving humans, take turns in giving me tea

My new 'human mum' went missing, wouldn't you know
I sat their floating all day long, but she was a 'no show' !!

I swam around the houseboats, knocked on some pontoons
all, some humans said to me was, 'Mum will be home soon'

I don't know what 'soon' means, or what time frame that would be
I just know my 'human Mum', is no where close to me !

I could not understand it, where had you disappeared
my food kept on appearing, for that my tummy cheered !

In the first light of the mornings, coz you weren't here to share
I would sit and hide in silence, as the 'bullies' swam in pairs.

I'd wait until they passed me, swam to where else I felt safe
across the water to 'human mums' friend, that seemed a safer place !

I slowly built my strength up, with some human help
then when the 'bullies' came again, I flew off, all by myself !!

So I'm swimming around the Marina, waiting for my 'human mum'
missing her so much, hope she's home soon, I don't want us to lose touch !!
