Nine months in the making,
sometimes more or less,
then a precious bundle
helps complete the family nest.

Entry to the world
hopefully pain free,
for the new mum and her baby,
as she's helped through delivery.

Hair on perfect head
glistens red and gold,
"Beautiful baby girl",
her proud mum is told.

Fine downy hair
on her body so fair,
delicate little ears
fill with new born tears.

Rosebud mouth,
cute for a while
when baby screams
you can lose that smile.

Perfect button nose,
cutest of chins,
tiny little fingers,
ten little toes.

Skin so soft and supple,
natures purest peach and cream,
eyes as bright as deep blue skies,
every parents dream.

She's with you for life,
from baby to bride,
no matter where she is,
in your heart, by your side.

Hey Sue!

Guess I've been a bad mommy, and not been into my own site for centuries. I see this poem has been sitting fallow for 3 years!

What a sweet little tribute to your granddaughter, the small, rosebud mouth that emanates sounds that make a grown woman hold her ears, lol! But she's yours, and no longer and infant in the arms. I bet you still see everything about her as perfect!

Great way to welcome children into this world!
