The Old house On The Hill

I felt a breeze from your hair
You saw your reflection in my stare
A single droplet froze mid air
Our watches stopped without a care
At the old house on the hill

Under the tree where time stood still
It’s leafs held back the winter chill
A single kiss then set the thrill
To a promise of love we set to fill
At the old house on the hill

The clouds stood still to beckon light
The foliage parted in their plight
The sun came out and chased the night
As we smiled and held each other tight
At the old house on the hill

The flowers sprayed around perfume
Then hushed and hid within their bloom
The bracken cleared to give us room
As we kissed once more but not too soon
At the old house on the hill

I held you close that night in bed
And reflected on a day that read
When night creeps in and all is dead
To keep these memories in my head
And keep at bay foreboding dread
That path by us once more be tread
At the old house on the hill

Thankyou for your comment on '40 Valentine Day's', Robert ! I do hope you are enjoying my antics and trips on Face Book ....My children think I'm crazy ! They say they are scared to ring us sometimes, as they don't know where, in Australia we will be ! The older I get the more I want to travel this country ! Should have been a Gypsy !!!
