I suppose that it might be considered a waste to not try
To write another poetic work with the nine I’ve written
So for today, I have turned my attention back to poetry.

The poet’s words lift me up, as they punctuate my life,
Marking magic moments with writing’s purged consent,
I suppose that it might be considered a waste to not try

To set my cares onto the tabled page, formed from trees,
Paper and pencil informing me, as if by a muse smitten,
So, for today, I have turned my attention back to poetry.

Mind ablaze with the burning desire to write, terrified
To think my mind may not be equal to the task, spent.
I suppose that it might be considered a waste to not try.

What to say on which topic, I seek to know the degree
To which I must suffer to be a poet. I’ve suffered much
So far today, and so I turn my attention back to poetry.

Hopes dashed in rejection and pain by the demoralized
Critical pens, and though they sting, they set me free.
I suppose that it might be considered a waste to not try,
So, today, I have turned my attention back to my poetry.

I am not quite here affraid

yet, but I'm getting there I fear. But enough of that. Thank you again for reading my work and for your support. It is good to be a member. You've all made me feel so welcome. group hug
