6/9 Double Trouble Double11

Since so many of you like constructing end rhyme poems, I'd like to give you a bit of a challenge, this time. Have you ever tried your hand at an AAAA rhyme scheme? It's actually referred to as Monorhyme, and it's not that hard as seen in this old nursery rhyme, Lucy Lockett

Lucy Locket lost her pocket,
Kitty Fisher found it;
Not a penny was there in it,
Only ribbon round it.

Easy enough . . .

How about something a bit trickier? Ah come on, you know you love challenge! Well here it is . . .

A Double-Sided AAAA Rhyme

How? Rhyme the beginning and ending of each line throughout the verse. Here's a grim example I came up with this afternoon:

A- We slipped as dewdrops dropping off the trees, -A
A- seeing dreams fade midst frantic pleas. -A
A- Sea Foam rolling with a mighty decree, -A
A- pre death one moment, then swallowed by the sea. -A

Think you can do this? I bet you can! Find a root word that has LOTS of rhyming words to go with it. I actually just noticed my first word in each line rhymes with the last word in each line. That's NOT necessary! A purely artistic mistake, I assure you:-)

Maybe something like:

come......................................make
drum.......................................break
strum......................................lake
hum........................................quake

Good Luck,

Far from where he spits,
Neath the tree she sits,
Wondering of the earth's orbits,
As if the stars were spirits.

6/9 Double Trouble Empty Ghostly crew

Post  Teresa Jane Price Thu Jun 09 2011, 23:13

Lull is the tide
For where the ships stride
And crashed upon the shore's hide
And buried the crew alive.

Lull may be the tide again,
As panicing voices carry in the wind
Of that a pirate crew, dying men
Who now are nothing but sand.

So, you who walk these shores
And know this of the ocean's roars,
For amongst such is the sound of rowless oars,
Seeking the hands of their mastering sailors.

Know no more the blue of the sky,
So known is only nigh.
Evenso, aglow is the moon up high,
Posed for the thou eye.

Keeping images of such time,
Deepening in myself that I find,
Seeping beyond my mind,
Creeping like poison on a vine.

No blue can be seen,
So does the time seem.
Go does the mind in a dream,
Though there is hope from a moon beam.
