In Times of Trouble Empty In Times of Trouble

Sad for all our loved ones and friends,
We discount personal
Differences and not speaking
Kindly to each other.

Times of distress and destruction
Bring out the best in some,
But the worst is found in others.
Thank goodness for the rest.

In the darkness there is a light
Shining from within us,
A guiding beam, as a lighthouse
Beacon warns us of shoals,

With our boats sailing through rough seas,
In our times of trouble.

This small poem is but a token of the love and concern I have for my friends and family in and around Crisfield, Maryland, one of many sites hit hard by hurricane Sandy.
