World at War Again

Go down

World at War Again Empty World at War Again

Post  mikeschultz Sun Dec 30 2012, 11:24

Thinking long on the plight of all of mankind,
And womanhood, in a world gone crazy,
Chaos, I step back and take a wide view,
And see there, there in the midst of it all,
A dust devil with a burned tumbleweed
In its maw, a torch raised up in vain hopes
One will see it and come to teach, learn, and
Try to understand. Each soul seeks its way,
Waiting for other signs of God’s presence.
“Dust Devil,” I ask, “What have you been at?”
Searching yards and woods for a burning bush.’

No fear for an older vernacular,
We face the chaos and spit our curses
At the wind, and they are blown back at us.
Where is peace? Where is the calm for living?
Where, oh WHERE! “Where have all the flowers gone?”
I, too, would pick a bundle of flowers,
A gift of nature and my small efforts,
Tokens shy of their full depths of meaning.
As matters of species more than gender,
We are more alike than we care to know,
Chaos. Step back and take a wider view.
