The World Beyond

In the darkness just before dawn
I find myself listening to the crickets' songs
As the glowing orb sinks to sleep
Till the stars spread across the sky.
So it's morn and I arise to a new day
Where waters flow clear and calm
Down the ditch shaded by oaks
That tower the newly sown corn
That's a feast for the murder of crows.
The world beyond my window
Touches me with its breeze
While hot coffee adds to the routine.

Pondering what lies just beyond our windows can make for some lovely discoveries. Excellent poem and a good read. Keep up the good work.
