A simple one syllable word that's easily recognizable, but did you know that if you put the word 'dog' in a Find related words search at Rhymezone, you'll have 531 results? WOW!

My life seems like a shuttle
The violin that was touching my neck
Became today a rifle
The tune of dancing and love
Just now became blood and pus
Noise and fuss
And now behind a tree
Trying to press on the trigger
Feeling my daughter Julie
Calling me
Don't shoot
Don't shoot
Oh my God
Is this a rifle
Or a violin!!

Wow, this is something Ali! A piece filled with action that takes our ear right to the front. Good writing.

Can you post your chosen word and the ten related words incorporated into this piece?

Thank you Bev. The word is (War) and the ten related words are :
Helicopters,Noise, fuss, battle,shuttle,rifle, blood, pus, trigger,shoot

I did not mention the main word ( war ) to Exclude it , then I mention orchestra as a symbol of life that I love and a common language of universe.

Ah Pete, I guess I've failed to get my point across here again:-) Okay, you don't need to use the word 'dog'. You can choose ANY word you'd like, then write a poem in any style incorporating 10 additional words that are related to the word you've chosen. So for the word dog, it could look something like: DOG: bark, walk, fur, hunt . . . and so forth.

I understand that but tried Dog to see if I was doing something wrong as you reconed there are 531 words relating to Dog and all I could see were 12

What am I doing wrong boo hoo

Baby

Welcome to my crib
I’ve had a little change
My sister she got bigger
So they had a rearrange

I used to have a basket
But just to say for what it’s worth
The basket was only short term
Only meant for afterbirth

They tried me in a bassinet
But that was a bit of a jam
So as a temporary fix up
They stuck me in my pram

When I get to be a toddler
They will build me my own room
I think they are regretting
The recent baby boom

Grandma has a chair
When she comes to baby sit
And I need a changing table
And room to lay on it

So this is my new nursery
I hope that you enjoy
I wish that it was blue not pink
After all I am a boy
