Lonely Daffadil

Looking out of my window
as I sat upon the sil,
Across the way, my eyes did see
a lonely daffadil.
It arched it's neck towards the ground
and bowed before the sun
No other flow'rs 'round it, nor be seen by anyone.
It didn't lift it head and dance
And waver in the breeze
Just sighed towards the grass beneath
So still, amongst the trees.
like a proper living statue
such perfected flute and form
with no-one to appreciate
It sat alone, forlorn.
For daffadils, are social flowers
bunched in merriment
that bob their heads in a curtious dance
But this one, accompanied cold cement!

A lovely poem. I really enjoyed the way you revealed the setting in the last line and instantly brought a greater understanding of the images that came before, such as the bowing flower. Sweet. Thank you for sharing your observation in such a beautiful poem.
