A letter to self

Dear Lucy, incase it slipped your mind
I'm YOU. well before you aged
and before you knew what happened
had you locked up, boxed and caged.
Into a local nursing home
where you can while away the hours
jigging up a puzzle piece
or rearranging dull faux flowers.
So I'm diligently going to
"Expand Your Memory" classes
and registered well in advance
for designer teeth and glasses.
I'm reading up on health books
and signing up f'any outdoor leisure
to increase me circulation
and reduce the high blood pressure.
I'm popping lots of vitamins
for me diet is in doubt
and got some GP med' creams
to stop me hair from falling out.
I've dumped the egg 'chips at last
i'm eating bread with wholemeal flour
I bought a dog (company for me jog!)
So I can put me feet up f'an hour.
I've unplugged the damn computer
and chopped the legs off all the chairs
In hope I strengthen up me legs
So you can climb the bloody stairs.
I hope to regain my youthfulness
to leave you mobile and full of breath
to know and enjoy your retirement
and fullfil your dreams before death.
