Sun and Rain
Sun and Rain
The heat is so oppressive, do you know just what to wear?
Do you cover up like experts say, or do you go round bare?
Of course you are in your garden and bare is so aloud
But do you cover up and sweat or roast your tummy a little bit.
Do you water plants around the night?
Or do you water in the morn.
Do your plants look healthy or dry and so forlorn?
Is this a sign of what is to come, is it time to go inside and eat another bread bun.
Is the race really run or is it just a myth
Increase in temperature comes round every few years,
Water is short does not allay your fears,
If the plants can’t grow will we have enough to eat?
Will there be water at our feet?
You know you know and what will grow,
So stop the worry and let it go,
Weed the garden and drink the water
That is what you should be doing each day and every quarter.
Provision will be made and rain and sun will keep on coming,
Just stay indoors and let it rain, see the water run down the drain,
In a few weeks time it comes out of the tap, and you wonder why again you worried about that
And you just go and lay down flat and wallow in the sun.

Re: Sun and Rain
Ah Fred . . . so many great points in this piece. Being a northern gal in Florida, I can relate wanting to go 'bare', lol. Always telling David how lucky he is to be a man, to be able to go shirtless!
I don't worry about the water. I figured that out a few weeks ago about the circle of things; drought some years, rainy the next couple.
Good writing, author West!
