Sitting Alone







Laying here in the dead of night
Wanting to sleep but loosing the fight
So many things on my mind
Sensible answers so hard to find

A picture of you keeping me awake
Sat pondering over a Birthday cake
A single candle lighting the way
Sat all alone on your special day

Just you the dog and the camera man
I wish I was there I’m your greatest fan
If I’d known you then I’d have been on the phone
But sad to say you were almost alone

Sitting alone you should never be
When so much of your time you could spend with me
Who cares about age it’s just time and space
Loose all sense of reality as I look at your face

I cant give you much in fact nothing at all
But I would always be there you just need to call
Fighting for sleep how much more can I take
Thoughts of you keeping me awake

I do have a lady friend but that is as far as it can go as she is married and I am not going to spoil that but she is lovely and very good company
