We’ve been given our freedom,
But we don’t know how to use it:
With little care but to abuse, it
seems we judge the kingdom
by its court. Who could refuse it,

the truth, the truth as we see it?
With a smattering of a hopeful tune,
not full of cynical doom and gloom,
love each day so as to want to face it,
and set an infectious smile upon the moon.

From here and now to Kingdom come
the way is often hard, winding where it
will, as water around a rock, as the spirit
around a stumbling block, as we turn from
life and run as if to try to outlive it.
