My pencil at the ready
To write my note to you
A blank page here in front of me
What to write…I have no clue

I want to say so much today
But my words are jumbled mush
I need to concentrate my thoughts
I need to think…not rush

I want to say …I love you
And that you mean the world to me
And that I will need no other
For all eternity

I want to hold you gently
And caress you in my arms
I want to take good care of you
And keep you out of harm

I want to share my life with you
And be romantic by the shore
Go hand in hand…along the sand
And be yours for evermore

I want to grow old gracefully
And be your life-long friend
I want to share my dreams with you
Until our life journeys end.
