Sweetly Sing the Little Birds

days warmed by the sun
meadows filled with wild flowers
a free seed market
sweetly sing the little birds
sing loudly for their breakfast

through the noonday haze
an afternoon siesta
days walk till evening
when dew begins to settle
hummingbirds have one last drink

beyond the gloaming
nights cooled by the moons pale glow
flood and ebb the tides
as wax and wane the far moon
as calls the lonesome bob white

loons on the river
with night birds and whippoorwill
each calls out in time
to the cadence of my heart
sweetly sing the little birds

Very visual writing here Mike. Your use of technique is beautifully wrought, and I find myself wanting to read the piece several times to feel it all:-)
