Uniform

Uniform
I was born with nothing No uniform, So they say
My first Uniform a romper suit it be my dear.
Growing older to a child My next Uniform to be worn was for the Cubs it were Dib, dib Dobb Dobb.
Then came the Scouts Being always prepared
Older still came the school Uniform
This was to display our age it seems.
Into working life came but yet another Uniform to claim.
Having wore this uniform its been for nearly half a century.
London Transport Railways I do decree have given me A life to lead.
Another uniform I did but wear was of the Corps of The Royal Corps Transport,
Then I was called a "Waggoner" by Gawd.
So now you see my life Has been uniformed to me
And when I am gone no more Uniform for me
For you see when I leave
I'll have nothing,
You'll see.!!!

LOL . . . but you'll be wearing a 'death shroud'! I never thought of it like this Rich, but really, we do wear uniforms all our lives. There is a certain decorum for each aspect of our daily lives. When we're born, we automatically come out wearing our 'Birthday Suit'. Going to bed, most of us wear PJ's. When we go to certain places of distinction, we wear our 'Best'. When we get thrown into the hospital, we wear the dreaded opened tailed 'gown'!

Guess it's unavoidable . . . all our lives- uniforms:-)
