A Sad Day
I lay upon this earth today,
Beside a brook this day.
The water so crisp and clear this time of year.
I gaze aloft, to a sky so blue, so clear.
A silence surrounds me, I hear no sound.
I know but a moment sooner a battle did rage.
My eyes do mist, my Mother I cry, no sound doth come, my lips do quiver.
I gaze again into the Brook, It's clear, not now, it's turned to red.
My life has turned it red.
I lay here in silence, on battlefield so quite...
With my life's Blood, slowly ebbing away.
A maker I shall meet upon this very Day.
How Sad, how Sad, upon this very Sad Day...

Well it's about time... you got on here at last...and with an excellent start.
Let me be the first to welcome you Richard to our lovely poetry corner. I do hope that you enjoy being a member as much as we all do! We're just one big happy family!! I look forward to reading some more of your work and maybe you can include the odd picture to go with them.

A Sad Day
Hi Jinetty,
Thank you for your welcome and comments. I would like to send a photo but at the moment I am looking to see how to attach them.
I have put another of my work on the site and I am about to put another. However, the writings are on my Blackberry so I need to figure out how to get them across.
I have looked on the site and found some really good work. You all seem to be having a lot of fun and enjoyment in your writings. I am sure I will find the contentment and hope you'll all enjoy them has enjoy writng them.
Richie.
