Heaven at Last
Heaven at Last
It landed on the floor with legs splayed out just like before,
Landing on wooden floor it was exposed to all that could see it.
So away it flew and onto a leaf, now it would not be seen only by utter disbelief,
It put its legs together and the sound of grasshopper was heard!!
More answered in the grass that day,
Sun was shining birds on display,
But the grasshopper blended well
His colour the same as the grass,
Nothing could see it down below
So it ended up in no-ones mouth.
Along came a lady rubbing legs together fast,
He started his courtship and all among the grass
Knew what was going on and sat to see the display,
Would this be a marriage made in heaven? Or just another play?
Legs were rubbed and smiles exchanged,
Love was seen and birds forgotten
Surely a bird would not be that rotten
So now the grass and the heat were there
Now the two love hoppers there love they would share
Ina few weeks more little hoppers would arrive
And after some training the back legs they would drive
So they too could be grass hoppers in a field full of grass.
And they could rattle their back legs and say heaven at last.

RE: Heaven At Last
"Honey I've Shrunk the Cameraman" I would be there in the grass taking photo's of the courtshipif I small enough. That's of course I don't get eaten by something bigger in the grass. Smashing writing and a great imagination.
