The party




Went to a party last week
Was a birthday for a friend
I hate social gatherings
But sometimes I must pretend

I try to find a corner
Keep my back to the wall
Show that I am having fun
Even though I'm not at all

Then this guy turns up
Starts trying to talk to me
So I try to show some interest
Shake my head or nod to agree

Then they turn out the lights
And the band begins to play
So as everyone is dancing
Its my chance to slip away

I'm not a party person
I just don't like a crowd
Just prefer things to be quiet
I always find parties too loud
