As I lay here really silent
And there's nothing I like more
I love the sort of quiet life
What's on the menu tonight
Your voice stays gentle - it soothes me still
Full of myself....of confidence
But it's not just the kids around here
You think I surely miss
Just then, the cows woke, one by one
Out comes the bucket and mop
To form a shelter, a place to rest
Break up the marriage nest.

This little ode came about as I was playing around with my poems...
Choose 12 of your poems
Take the first line from poem 1
Take the second line from poem2
The third line from poem 3
etc.etc. And see what daft and funny poem developes.......Have fun!

You just don't know what to do
Go into the changing room
Seems to go so fast
At first I didn't notice
Don’t tell you where they go
Then people bring the place alive
You've not pressed button A, why?
All it is, is just a tin box with a pot
Unless the kids remind him
I try to avoid the starters
Most garages have all gone green

Love the title and the poem. Can't wait to have a go at it.

I have to say that when you look to some of the supposed 'great' poetry of the day, it make no more sense than either one of these poems. Wondering now if this is how they are composed? Poet like to shock and title it great art. It's in vogue to use much symbolism. You read these 'highly esteemed' works and are left studying, trying to understand what lofty secret message the poet is trying to impart. Each reader has a different idea, lol. The poet is rendered brilliant. Sort of like modern politics Very Happy

1--------In the beginning was Eve
2--------with Farah hair and tight blue jeans.
3--------Planted long, long ago -
4--------and excepted few callers.

5--------We filed two by two into cubby holes -
6--------She heard sickening sounds:
7--------“That'll teach ya, cat, ta muck round my kitchen, today!”
8--------Oh hogwash, her expression seems to say.

9--------Up around the bend, a clearing
10------.and hide neath da leaves.
11------.Then Bevie, she cut through the multi-hued cloud

Sadness can affect you in many different ways
From someone very close
I don't know where it went wrong or why she went this way
And get into strife

The trickling streams were to small
In a tummy getting large
Of positives and promises
All we can send is our real love

Life continues on
By giving me some words
The flames lick out of the fire
Work hard to let those feelings go
