Silence is Golden

I want to be in my own world
No sound, just silent thoughts
You bombard me with your do's and don'ts
And things you think I ought.
Leave me be, I'm happy here
My silent world is bliss
You try to tell me all the things
You think I surely miss
But truly I'm in a better place
My silent world and me
No-one here to argue with
I just wish you'd let me be
Your world is loud, it scares me
I'm deaf but I'm not dumb
Let me watch the world go by
Don't care that sounds don't come
I'm not at all unhappy
I'm not at all too sad
I live within my silent world
And yes...I'm rather glad.

I have some ear defenders. If people want to know how nice it sometimes is not to have all that is going on around, they should put them on. it is wonderful.
I don't think I would like it to be permanent but short term it is lovely
