Chilled atmosphere

Stony cold. The evenings are,
Even before the sun has set.
The atmosphere draws heavy,
Another sleepless night to fret.
Conversations. Died off years ago!
Just.. life's routine to pace.
I glance up, f'hopeful glimpses of
Emotion in his grimaced face.
Alas. Those days are over...
When we embraced in fits of laughter..
No point in holding out f'dreams,
He can't give me what I'm after.
..It's time to turn the pages o'er
Start a chapter- late, but new.
Can't bare to harbour feelings
That are empty, false and blue..

Oh, Lucie, you give such a heartfelt depiction of a serious emotional turmoil. I gather such a depth of feeling must come of personal experience or one keen observer with a good imagination, both work, and in either case my prayers are with you. A lovely poem, it is quite moving. Thanks for sharing.
