Windows

A wiser man than I once said,
' Eyes are windows to the soul.'
I never grasped that concept until gazing into yours.
I see wonder, wisdom, and enlightenment.

I see my sweetheart's love returned
like I never thought possible.
I see a beautiful woman,
growing younger by the minute.
A tender, loving heart . . caring and empathetic.

I see the sparkle of a million stars on a clear, moonless night,
your tears, like droplets of dew clinging to the petals of a rose.
Beautifully full, rich and strong eyes of my precious;
the reflection of a man who is finally becoming a man,
feeding from your goodness.

Caring and loving deeper than I have depth,
I yearn to hold you tight and tender,
safe-secure,
assuring you that I love you like no other
forever and always.
