in the garden
Come , visit in the garden
at the very break of dawn
And you will see the magic
of a new day as it's born
And in amongst the shaddows
of the flora are the beasts
arising from cold slumbers
to begin their morning feasts
The golden ball of sunshine
rises gently over all
repainting in the colours
As it sweeps o'er wall to wall
The tiny midges waken from
the grasses in the night
hovering at different levels
when all at once they take to flight
The spider's busy webbing
inbetween the legs of chairs
so intricate her masterpiece
To later catch her wares
The bluetits and the sparrows
parade about the tree
to the topmost of the branches
Chirping oh- so happily
And always on the panel
Of the fence, all fed and dressed
Rings the chorus of the Robin
As he sings his very best
The tiny buds of flowers
seem to quiver at their stem
As one by one they open
Unwrapping beauty once again
I love this gift of nature
That freely gives to all
And once you see it's splender
I know, you too, will fall...
at the very break of dawn
And you will see the magic
of a new day as it's born
And in amongst the shaddows

Re: in the garden
Lucie,
Your poem is lovely, and in it you capture the very reasons I too enjoy the morning hours, sitting near my garden with my lap board, notebook, pen, and a cup of fresh made coffee. Thank you for reminding me.
Keep up the good work.
