A Dear Friend

When you feel you’re going around the bend
Its times like this you need a friend
Someone who knows just what to say
To help your problems go away.

A caring soul to help you through
The things that life will throw at you
When horrid thoughts of deep despair
He’ll be by your side…and you know he’ll care

My guardian angel…with a smile to share
No other friend can ever compare
He answered me when I felt bad
He turned up trumps…and I was glad

He’ll never know how his kindly thought
Of bags of tea and cakes he brought
To sit a while and talk things through
Would mean so much to me. …THANKYOU.

It’s not until you’ve been there
That you can understand
And then it is just natural
To lend a helping hand

It doesn’t take much effort
To lend a friend an ear
To sort out all those worries
And help to see things clear

When the weather in your life
Just fills your heart with rain
All you need is friendship
For the sun to shine again
