I May have been feeling strong that day
When i walked into the shop and booked in
but now that it's here
I am filled with such fear
How to co-ordinate my legs to begin.

Well it was long overdue and much needed
And of course i would have to admit
that my overgrown tresses
exceeded my dresses
I was lokking more like 'cousin IT'

But that hot humid air and the noise
And the hussle and bussle of folk
That whizzed back to and fro
had me wanting to go
So panic striken, I thought I would croak!

Oh I know it don't hurt, you can't feel it
But once it has gone, well. No more
Once your under attack
You can't glue it back
Sitting bald. looking down at your hair on the floor!

And always say hairdressers don't listen
Oh, they chat all day long in your ears..
But how you feel really matters
To leave your pride, not in tatters
but to style what YOU WANT with those shears.

Well, I've plucked up the courage to just do it!
And fling all my fears to the side
With my nails gripped in the chair
I'll recite the Lord's prayer
And if I hate, well. I'll just have to HIDE affraid
