A Despairing Glance

Go down

A Despairing Glance Empty A Despairing Glance

Post  mikeschultz Sun Jan 29 2012, 18:15

Who sits in the muck and mire
of modern civilization
and cries out in bitter despair
and measures no satisfaction?

Of whom might we inquire to ask
the questions we dare not utter,
those that smack of complaints to mask
motivations – stormy weather.

Who stands in the midst of the storm
and cries, Follow Me, and then leads?
The ways sometimes seem wide and worn
but often they are narrow dead ends,

Canyons of concrete, steel and glass.
We sit in the muck and mire,
cry out that we might be the last,
and pray to dispel our despair.
