Raindrop

heavy is the rain drop
crashing on the delicate leaves
leaf arching back near breaking point
before launching itself to the breeze
Airbourne and splendid
like a glistening pearl
as the wind catches its skin
in a gust it did hurl
this droplet of pureness
natures clearest and fine
descends down the coils
of atwisting grape vine
at the tip of a leaf
in wavers in the balance
a moment of hopefulness
before accepting abidance
to the ground it hits hard
no soft cushion the grass
this beauty has shattered
like shards o'broken glass
a tear it does fall
for its pitying sake
that such beauty so brief
that this world needs to take.
