If I fail, it will not be through
any lack of striving,
but by failing to grasp the ring
of lies that sound so true.
Too trusting, gullible, naïve
and foolish, they call me
names and laughing at me deceive
this is not what you see.

If not today, then when, and why?
Tomorrow, for certain.
Irreversible steps, paths by
which we come to know pain.
If we strive and fail it's no sin,
But to never strive is.
