Pre-school is my favourite day
Where I can just be me
To laugh, to sing and dance and play
And build creatively.

Today I was a baker!
at the play-doh table-set
I pinched and poked, I pat'd n'rolled
MY cakes will taste best, I bet!!

And while they were a-cooking
I scooted around the 'town'
Through all the falling leaves
yellow, orange, green and brown.

The Josh, my friend, came out to me
And handed me a horse
So we galloped to the castle
Where we fought a mighty force.

Then all too soon it's snack time
Where I put back all the toys
It didn't take too long
Helped by all the girls and boys

And seated at teh table
having washed our hands to eat
we munch on tasty-toast n'chat
then offered a healthy treat

well we musto'done good sitting
cos' our we are first to make a ring
where everyone 'll listen
sharing stories as we sing

But I'm gonna build a boat yard
cos' my dad he works on one
I'll cut it, stick it n'paint it
Then i'll take it home for mom.

Ahhh! the dinosaurs are coming!
QUICK! hide in this tent- make room!
here's a torch....we're astronauts
we're flying to the moon!!

Mom says that its a time to learn
But i'm just having fun
She says I need to read n'count
to busy fishing tho...5,4,3,2,1,

There's a picnic in the home corner
And paper planes are being made
Chloe's on the computer..
and there's music being played

So come along to pre-school
all me friends can't wait t'meet ya
I shall be there every week day
Cos mom says I am the teacher!

Ah Lucie, Lucie, a fine read brought back some old memories of when I went to Pre-School. You know we never really grow up, the child will always remain inside us. That's why we love our kids and grandkids. While Dad's play football with Son's, Mums play with their daughters toys....!!!.
One big memory that comes to mind when I was at pre-school was me with a wooden peg frame with holes init and me banging wooden pegs though the hole....!!! Ah Memories thank you for reminding me.
I take it you work has teacher?
I really do like the way you write, your like your Mum, she has a knack at getting to the heart of the matter.

thanks so much for you ur comments Rich, i'm glad it brought back memories..love hearing them :) I love working with the kids ( if my pocket were big enough i'd bring them home with me)

Just thinking of all the hundreds of little children that will grow up with your sense of humour and your extreme imagination and fun! Hopefully in years to come will instill into their own children too!!!

I especially like the last verse . . . sort of brings it to a twist closing:-) Wonderful writing sweetie. I agree with Rich, you got a lot of mum in ya!

Ah, the memories and play-doh and crayons, etc. Just to be free...
They are so innocent at that age...(well sometimes, lol).
