Autumn

Autumn comes but
Once a year.
It gives us a chance to
Spread some cheer.
Autumn leaves softly
Float to the ground.
In brilliant colors,
But not a sound.
Little critters are scurrying to
Collect a winter's feast.
In hope not stolen
From a large beast!
The air is crisp,
Some days are given
A shower or mist.
The smell of autumn
Is in the air.
Smelling a fire,
Burning here or there.
Sweaters are worn when
The weather seems chilly.
Children playing in piles of
Leaves, acting quite silly.
Pumpkins and apples are
A favorite pick of the season.
The aroma of baking sends
Hunger to our bellies without a reason.
Ah, the taste of pumpkin and apple pie!
One more bite, then give a sigh.
For this is autumn at it's finest.
Enjoy the season, friends, and kindness.

Eeeee, I love the time of Fall! Pumpkin pie and fresh picked apples . . . doesn't get better than that, does it? Very descriptive writing Cheryl. I can almost smell the colors and taste the words.
