Winds of Fear

Sitting here in fear as the wind picks up its speed,
feel my heartbeat racing, as the tears fall on my knees
listening to the tarp flap, as it protects our home,
the tensioning of the strapping, a fearful noise of its own !

Trees are kissing bushes, inturn they sweep the ground
only wind gusts in my ears, such a horrid, frightening sound
rumbling of engines, of the boats on waters high
as they search for sheltered areas from the wind and angry sky

I'm just sitting here in fear, as the wind tares through the trees
trying to calm my heart down, praying for ''just a breeze''
husband by my side, holding my moistened palm,
trying hard to comfort me, trying to keep me calm !

A week ago today, the wind took part of our home,
flooded our Marina, left some of us to moan
today I'm fighting the demons, I've been trying hard to hide
a fearful sound of wind, metal and tarps, so locked into my mind !
