Today, I have a vision
Of a stress-free, decluttered life.
First thing at hand, to rid meself
Of children and the Wife.

I'll buy them all plane tickets
For a holiday abroard.
( This will be my parting gift)
T'will be worth it to afford!

And then I'll sell the house quick.
Trade in all their toot f'cash.
Move to a remote village,
Change my lifestyle in a flash.

Well as me folks have passed on
Best change me name as well as house,
Don't want no-one to find me
-ESPECIALLY the spouse!

I might just take up fishing.
Might go sailing way off shore.
Could get meself a great big dog
To go walking on the moores..

I'll take me life right leisurely
Just a kettle and me mug.
With an open fireside at night
To rest me bones, whilst in the tub!

Don't need all that technology
All tangled up in dust
No Got-to-haves n'gismo's
Cost too much to then let rust.

Nope. Give me country living
Leave all the bustle in the City
With fresh air in me lungs at dawn
(Who'd miss the choking on self pity?)

S'as I chop me wood f'kindle
Sit back and take a look.
I'm living what you dream of
When you scan y'electronic book..

[pause]

Yet tomorrow may be different..
What if I miss her torrent screams?..
Ah well, I guess there's other days
A man can wish for dreams.
